o yea this is phenomenal.

the mix isnt really perfect (the melody/vocals get lost) but thats missing the forest for the trees cuz its still excellent.

... you guys arent really 14 right? that's just a joke right? haha.........................

Zelgeon responds:

Thanks! actually, it's not a joke... We have almost 15 :)

not bad! try to make your drops a little more varied/rhythmically interesting! still a cool start tho =D

JaThu responds:

Yeah it gets a bit repetitive, I'll make a new version once I'm done with ngadm... (mmh... I should have added Reverb to the master)

really cool i like the new approach and chords and atmosphere and catchy melodies and cool solos and yea =D

no matter if u win or lose u have always won........... my heart

Kor-Rune responds:

I love you

Your track is GORGEOUS love

dang, like the last guy, i also wanted it to go on in the end. you get into this reall nice groove and then it just cuts out ;_;

hehe i recognize that riser at :11 from FL =p

a lot of the sound design doesnt totally work for me, obvious problem is 1:50 with those awkward vocal thingies.

BUT the melody is really great and the overall beat and mix is excellent. i just wish you would have looped that beat towards the end more haha with more of that crazy japanese (?) spoken word thing.

fxarchive responds:

You have no idea how much it means to me to hear this. Thanks a bunch :v

Yeah, I experimented a lot with this song--not all of it paying off, though I'm happy to hear that the Japanese thing worked--and ended up running out of time lmfao. I'd made a test outro that Ive uploaded, but wasn't really happy with it lol

your style really reminds me of phonometrologist where he would just let one really really progression go for like minutes at a time and change it up every now and then (and also not have a melody, wups).

i think this is good stuff, it's a great progression, it just lacks a little subtlety, like if stuff was less in my face it would have been amazingly effective. like im imagining this as a solo piano piece or something.

also that drum beat does not fit at all lol i think you could just remove it.

larrylarrybb responds:

Thanks for the input! Haha yeah the drumbeat is sort of a genre crossover from hip-hop/pop music with the classical.

really cool. that drum loop sequence is the tastiest thing. something something u vs demon wolf would be funny something

Adjeye responds:

Glad that matchup can only happen in the finals something-something ;)

okay so i was like putting my dogs in the crate and listening to your song (since it was finally visible again) on laptop speakers and then suddenly these electronic arps started happening and i was like wait what? that wasnt there before? and then there was this insane guitar solo?!? i dont remember
turning on pink floyd??? and the chord progression????????? and that was the point when i stopped the song, sat down, plugged in my good headphones, and gave this a real listen.

ABSOLUTELY TRANSCENDANT. the middle section is out of this world good. just sublime.

it's completely unfair you are up against garlagan, because you both make excellent music. hopefully one of you guys will get highest scoring loser and hop back in the next round. I HOPE.

really really really really great song, one of my top 3 i've heard in the the strongest opening round of ngadm yet.

Phonometrologist responds:

If it wasn’t for garlagan, I wouldn’t have pushed myself so much. Now that I think of it, maybe I should blame him for my sleepless nights in figuring out how to get this done. lol
To be truthful, I'm quite surprised by your words. I was so frustrated and dumbfounded in how to create this that I lost a sense of purity in my ears to hear it. The adjective of transcendent in a compliment is something my soul could get carried away with if I don’t keep my ego in check, since that is quite the thing I yearn for when discovering for new music in this world.
I don’t think it’s unfair that I’m up against garlagan. I have much respect for him and what he is able to do in his music that I look at this as an honor to be able to compete with him. When following his journey from NGADM14, never did I expect that I would ever get a chance to face him in this. It’s quite fitting to me and is a joy to be a part of.
And thank you for that wonderful imagery in regards to you having this playing as you put your dogs in the crate. The only thing I’m left wondering is what breeds are they?

oh hey i havent seen you in a while. i really like this loop. i feel like the bg ambience is a little overdone but the overall feel is pensive and beautiful. real nice. :D

BlazingDragon responds:

Hey there, great to see a familiar face after my long hiatus!

Thanks for the gentle critique. Mixing has always been the weakest link in my toolbox, so pointers like this are much appreciated.

not bad stuff, but it never really jumped out and grabbed my attention either. that drum kit really doesn't fit to be honest.

nice progressions and the melodies are nice too - you should work on dynamics and transitions and sections and stuff like that.

Veronina responds:

Thanks! I'll think about these carefully!

wow you raised the bar on yourself like 3 times in this piece.

amazing stuff! WHAT A HOOK!

seriously there's lots to improve in here like the mix and stuff but THAT HOOK IS OFF THE

HOOK

also i love all the foreshadowing of the eventual drop in the slow sections.

dang yea thats all i got. that melody is iNCREDIBLE its gonna be stuck in my head all day.

EctiBot responds:

Thanks, really glad you liked it :D. I'll probably re-make it sometime, as it ended up becoming a rather rushed effort X3

i always forget to respond to PMs. its not because i hate you, just because i forgot!!!
