No offense...

But its kinda dull. I mean, its just one instrument. I think when you do this again, try to seperate the melody into layers and then have seperate instruments play out seperate parts of the melody. For ex have maybe a flute play the higher notes, have base down at the bottom, and so on.

Also, get some drums or beat or something! The song sounds so lacking without them.

I haven't heard the original song so meh, but I hope this is helpful in further remixes/songs! Keep trying :D

And if you have time, check out some of my audio. Thanks ^^

i didnt want to have many instruments going because it takes away from the beauty of the melodies... i might make another version with the chord harmonies on a different instrument.
If you are familiar with the songs, there's no need for any drums. Also i mean this to be a classical piece.
despite our differing views, thanks for your review!

Not bad, but not O_O WOW!!

I guess the 'not O_O WOW!!' is guarenteed by the name of the song, but still. Its not bad, it is kind of relaxing. One thing that bothers me is how the bassline has 3 notes, then it just sort of drops off. Kinda weird. Maybe it could do with a soft piano? It gets kinda repetitive after a little bit.

Keep trying! You have potential if you put in some better melodies.

By the way, would you mind rating/reviewing my newest song? It got 0 rated about 1 minute and 30 seconds after I put it up. Kinda harsh... >.>

TMM43 responds:

Yeah...I thought it sounded fine just the way it is... guess maybe the next time I'll add the piano and stuff.

Thanks for the review.

I like it!

Sounds exactly like something my school band would play... Pretty good at times, I especially liked the piano part because I have a big bias towards piano :D

Something that bothered me a little bit was that the drums were kinda quiet. I found that kinda odd, since in most orchestrated pieces the drums are at least a little louder then in this one. Also, was it just me, or were there no cymbals? I love cymbals! Course, that doesn't mean your piece woulda been any better with my suggestions, probably different at best. Anyways, I can't wait to hear more out of you :D

MaestroSorrow responds:

your right, there were no cymbols, I wanted to... explore! That and there were many many things that are supposed to go into battle music, which I kinda did not know to put in >_>, all better now. Again the length is short primarily cuz I ran out of juice for the piece, and it was beginning to stray too much from the image, so I cut it where I did.
Many thanks for the review ^^.

Nice hybrid you have here ^^

This is very nice. It's length is my only real fret with it, which isn't really a fret at all because it's still a great song and isn't too affected by its length anyways.

Anyways, it was a nice somewhat energizing piece. I really liked the flute in there, it sounded exactly how I think a flute should sound: sad, sort of soulful even, which is an accomplishment because the piece seems a little upbeat until the flute kicks in. The flute is what I think brings the whole piece together and makes it great as opposed to good, it was a really nice touch. Then it fades into that nice weird thing of whatever it is, something like a violin crossed with a synthesizer? It's pretty cool, course I favored the flute over it anyways :P

Anyways, good job here. Classical and Techno are too genre's I'd never think would get mixed, but who knows what'll happen when you give someone something like fruityloops? :D

MaestroSorrow responds:

nobody knows... there are gods who say... a new age is born!

But yeah, after the flute, comes overupped violin of DOOOM! I personally liked the violin part more, but thats cuz I love the violin and all its juicy juicy noises.

Many thanks for the review, quite detailed.

Definitely different

It's not bad at all. Good background music, or maybe foreground - it's on the border. One thing that I sorta can't tell if I like or not is how the first little section sounds all off key, but then the music sort of reverts itself back into the regular sounding music. That's a nice trick.

Pretty good overall. I like it.

LoneEagle responds:

Lol i hadn't noticed that what you are talking about. Maybe it's because of the pads or something i don't know. Anyway thanks for reviewing, i'm glad you like it.

Pretty good.

I have to say that it's pretty tough for me to like a song like this - that is without an obvious melody or 'hook'. I'm pretty impressed though, this is pretty good background music. Maybe you could do better with some effects (like crashing in the background or something to add to the darkness) - just a thought.

Anyways, pretty good.

LoneEagle responds:

Hey thank you for reviewing. I'm not into sound effects right now, that's something i'll have to experiment with in the futur.

Not bad!

It's not bad. I like how it all builds up to the middle section, although after that it sorta drops off. At least I think it does, I was sort of zoning while listening to it ^^;

Anyways, one thing that you could do with some work on is the instruments. What I mean is that you have a lot of choppy sounding instruments that give way to smoother ones. Its kinda weird and works against the song.

Just a tip :D (technically you'd have no grounds to trust me, except I actually got told this by someone else who DID know ;)

LoneEagle responds:

Hey, thanks for reviewing. Yes, my instruments aren't the best in town. I need to find some decent samples for my instrumentation. I did find some drums samples finally.

Lol, i'm happy that you know someone that DOES know :D , and i'm glad you took the time to review my song. Thanks.

Nice.

It is pretty soothing. At points it gets pretty soft, but it's nice. I personally like the songs that are louder, but this is a nice change from what I'm normally used to.

Can't think of anything else to say.

Tancrisism responds:

Thanks man.

I love it.

I can't believe just how perfect this piece is. Those synths are just completely rocking. They... they just work. This piece is like perfection in audial form. Even the occasional vocal fits in. I never notice the loop - even now I'm having trouble picking it out. I think I'm going to have to download it to figure out when it happens. :P

I can just keep listening to your songs over and over. Amazing stuff here, man. Amazing.

Helix6 responds:

Sorry I'm responding to your review so late, but despite the amount of positive feedback I do recieve I want everyone to know how much I really appreciate it. I don't ever want to miss a response to any review because everyone's opinion matters to me. Music is universal, and everyone understands it, so no matter what kind of feedback I get I always will try to respond. Again sorry for the late response, but thank you for the positive review.

ARgh, the beat

That beat in the background... It just...doesnt belong. I mean, its a great song, but (and this is just me complaining) the beat really brings it down. You gotta change it or something. Other then that, great job.

dmk69 responds:

this is the first step to a final version

thanks for the review
