I would like to direct your attention to this song, written by RetromanOMG:

The song is definitely flawed - it has a bizarre sitar break, for example - but... the melody.
If that melody doesn't make you feel something than you're a robot.

Man, that is a beautiful melody! ;) RetromanOMG's music tends to have that effect on people. I don't know if you like chillstep, but you should probably check out "Awakened from Cryosleep." I was listening to it when my family and I took a train to NYC during school vacation week once, and after seeing hours of drab half-dead bushes, the city opened up in front of me at 4:42 (in the song). It felt so euphoric and cinematic! Interesting how you used the word "robot" in your post, because RetromanOMG's music makes robotic sounds emotional! ;D

That is a really great story.
Once I was on a plane and listening to 1.618 by BT (check it out sometime) - it's this really mysterious, open, and expansive song. And right when the song really opened up, the plane took off and looking out from the window I could see everything. It was a really great experience - mysterious but also full of possibility! It's always stuck in my mind.
(This story might be apocryphal because I don't think you could ever listen to ipods on planes, but maybe the rule wasn't in effect or something.)
